Chinese Cultural Week – Lion Dance

As a means of celebrating before the Chinese New Year Holiday, the ECAC successfully organised the Lion Dance on 20th January (Monday), which marks the official commencement of the first Chinese Cultural Week at St. Joseph’s College.

During the event, Brother Jeffrey and our principal Mr TM Kwok conducted the Lion Eye Dotting as a sign of conviviality. The Lion Dance ceremony then began on the football pitch and the Lion Dance tour at K7. Meanwhile, students seized the valuable opportunity to capture the worthwhile moments with the lions. We were extremely thrilled to witness the enthusiasm and dedication of everyone who participated, and we hope you enjoyed the panda souvenirs.

Highlighted as the first milestone in 2025, the Chinese Cultural Week and the Lion Dance served to celebrate the upcoming fruitful 150th Grand Anniversary and to deepen students’ awareness and sense of belonging to the extensive and profound Chinese culture.

We hereby extend our heartfelt gratitude to the 姜氏金龍醒獅團 for helping us to conduct the memorable Lion Dance. We would also like to thank all teachers and students who came to support us and treasured the time together, especially Brother Jeffrey, Mr Kwok, Mr Tam, Mr Yim, and Ms Fok.
