The annual Green and White Walkathon has been successfully held by the Interact Club on the 2nd of November, 2024 (Saturday). On behalf of the ECAC, let us express our sincere gratitude to all participants. Furthermore, we would also like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all parents and old boys for their continuous support through donations.
The traditional Walkathon has unfortunately been suspended for five years due to the pandemic. Thankfully, this year, our school is finally able to hold the long-anticipated physical walk once more, much to the delight of our students and staff. We adopted the routes which we have not used for over 20 years, in particular the daunting 10 km route to the Aberdeen reservoir and the return to SJC.
This year’s grand Walkathon amounted to more than 700 people! It consists of different categories of participants, including our Guest-of-Honour Mr Jan Lamb, several esteemed guests, present and former SJC and SJPS principals, old boys from different generations, parents, SJC teachers, SJPS P5-6 students and all of SJC Form 1-2 students, as well as sports team members. Additionally, 10 ambassador teams have been set up for such a special event.
Here is a huge shout-out to the following teachers who had been guiding the Interactors incredibly well with endless patience in the past few months for the huge preparation work, including Mr Jason Hung, Miss Cherry Lin, Miss Cherryl Wong, Mr Derek Mak, and Mr CY Tam. We would also like to give special thanks to Mr Alex Tang for his guidance with the video production.
Aside from teachers, we would like to once again thank Mr Lamb, St. Joseph’s Primary School, former principals, OBA, PTA, parents, old boys! Thanks crew members and old boys first-aiders for being here as well, especially the executive committees of the Interact Club for their remarkable dedication and perseverance in leading the large-scale event to success. We certainly hope all participants have gained a fruitful and mesmerising experience, and we look forward to seeing you all again in the next Walkathon!
