The Value Education and Academic Promotion Team (VEAPT) successfully conducted its second social service on 27th March during the Easter holiday – the voluntary food angel community service. During this service, volunteers helped with preparing and serving meals for over 100 elderly people in a community centre. Apart from that, they helped to clean the venue after the meals were finished, and distributed fruit and supplies to nearby underprivileged families.
We believe that this service was a precious opportunity for students to showcase their compassion and benevolence towards the elderly in society, as well as demonstrate their willingness to assist them. Additionally, they realised the necessity of aiding the needy and gained a deeper understanding of their various lifestyles and habits. We thereby appreciate all participants’ efforts for devoting their time to this worthwhile event.
