Beijing Trip (9-13 Aug)

Beijing, also Romanized as Peking, is the capital of the People’s Republic of China and the world’s most populous capital city. This five-day trip was a unique and mind-opening experience.

Students  learnt a lot about the architectural meaning of the infamous National Museum of China, the Tiananmen Gate Tower and the Great Hall of the People, about how they are situated in the city and how they are facing each other and how the difference of height in the Great Hall of the People and the Imperial City show that the people of the country are more important that the leader.

The trip was very interesting. The One Belt One Road talk was very informative; the Basic Law talk/forum/Q&A was surprisingly interactive while still being very educational. Students were shown a lot of problems that the Basic Law Drafting Committee has faced throughout the whole process which explained a lot why and how some of the clauses were born.
