Rocket Building Workshop hosted by HKPU

Last Saturday (13 Nov 2021), two SJC teachers, Ms WL Ip and Mr R Kam, chaperoned a team of seven students to take part in a community service event at the Central Market. In this event, our participating students acted as volunteer instructors, providing assistance to the participating children to create a paper rocket with a piece of paper and a launcher in the form of a workshop. The workshop was chiefly organized by the School of Design, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HKPU) and co-facilitated by the ECA Department and Aesthetic Society of SJC.

Through this event, student-participants revisited some essential physics concepts regarding forces and projectile motions and reinforced their bonds with the local community in the spirit of service education. The ECA Department and Aesthetic Society will strive to organise more relevant activities for Josephians in the near future.
